Top menu functions location

Use top menu functions for less frequently used functions, and on record screens where you have more functions than will fit conveniently in the footer.

Top menu functions can be at the record level (on a record screen) or in a global level (on a list or record screen).

Keep the length of the top menu functions limited to 7 functions. If the top menu has too many functions, users must scroll to see them all. Scrolling requires extra time, and can cause users to make an unintentional choice by tapping a button.

Associate colors to your top menu actions to indicate their behavior. Positive and destructive button emphasis are supported.

Top icon functions location

Use the Top icon function on the Record screen or Input form screen to provide a more discoverable action in the header. Each screen can have only one Top icon function, and it can be linked to only one specific action.
