When to use

Use deep links to take users directly to specific screens in another app, streamlining cross-app navigation. Confirm the target app supports deep-linking and follow its formatting guidelines.

When not to use

Don’t use deep links if the target app doesn’t support them. Always check the app’s documentation to avoid broken or confusing experiences.

Overview

A deep-link is a specific type of hyperlink that allows users to be navigated directly to a specific piece of a mobile app. Deep-links contain all the relevant information needed to navigate from one app to another.

Not all mobile apps support deep-linking. If the target mobile app supports deep-linking, documentation is available regarding how their links should be formatted. These links can be placed anywhere within our ServiceNow mobile apps to allow end users to seamlessly navigate to another target app.

Find out if an external mobile app supports deep-linking by searching through the external app’s product documentation. For more information around configuration, please see our product documentation.
